Deep Sky Deep Sky is at the forefront of combating climate change through innovative carbon removal technologies. Our mission is to develop and implement scalable solutions for direct air and ocean capture systems. We are embarking on an ambitious project, Deep Sky Labs, our innovation and commercialization facility designed to make a significant impact on carbon reduction. We will be using this facility to identify leading technologies to partner and scale to commercial production. Deep Sky One will be our first commercial facility designed to make a significant impact on carbon reduction. To achieve this milestone, we are seeking an experienced Senior Process Engineer to aid in the design and engineering of this state-of-the-art facility.
As Senior Process Engineer, Capture you will play a crucial role in designing and engineering our state-of-the-art direct air capture and direct ocean capture facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemical or environmental engineering, with a passion for environmental sustainability and technological innovation.

In this role, you will work very closely with the Chief Carbon Scientist and Head of Engineering to:

  • Design and develop efficient processes for direct air and direct ocean capture balance of plants (e.g., liquefaction of CO2 for transport)
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to integrate innovative technologies from our capture partners into facility design.
  • Conduct simulation and modeling to optimize process performance and efficiency.
  • Develop and implement safety and environmental compliance strategies.
  • Analyze and interpret data to make informed engineering decisions.
  • Provide technical support during the construction, commissioning, and operation phases.
  • Stay abreast of technological advancements in the field of carbon capture and sequestration.

An ideal candidate has:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in process design and engineering, preferably in carbon capture, chemical processing, or environmental technology sectors.
  • Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., CAD, Aspen HYSYS, ChemCAD).
  • Strong first-principles analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
