Project Geologist for Subsurface Operations (CDR/CCS Projects)

Location: Canada-wide Remote (with a focus on regional mapping projects for CCS)
Position Type: Full-time
About Us:
Deep Sky is at the forefront of environmental innovation, specializing in Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) and Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) technologies. We are dedicated to developing sustainable solutions for decarbonization and are currently expanding our team to include a skilled Junior Geologist who will play a crucial role in our subsurface operations and regional mapping projects across Canada.
Job Responsibilities:
Conduct geological modelling and interpretation using industry-standard software to define optimal reservoirs and zones of interest for CO2 storage.
Oversee regional geological mapping projects across Canada, identifying potential CCS sites and contributing to the development of regional CCS strategies.
Support drilling programs, coordinate environmental assessment and remediation projects.
Prepare and submit applications for CCS hubs, including geological assessments and feasibility studies.
Manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Support internal geo-activities and manage environmental assessment and remediation subcontractors.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology, or a related field.
Demonstrated first hand exposure to core logging and analysis.
Knowledge of both carbonate and siliciclastic sedimentology/stratigraphy.
Proven experience in geological mapping, project management, and environmental assessment.
Preference for exposure to software that includes: Petrel, Techlog and Geoscout.
Strong project management skills with exposure to large-scale geological studies.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to liaise with government agencies, industry partners, and stakeholders.
Valid driver's license, passport, and willingness to travel as required for fieldwork and project meetings.
