About the Role

We're looking for a hands-on Mechatronics Technician / Technologist to assemble, test, calibrate, and troubleshoot precision robotic sensing systems. You'll work with Manufacturing teams to build high-quality products while supporting continuous process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble precision electromechanical products following engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Perform SMT and through-hole soldering and PCB assembly.
  • Apply epoxy potting and encapsulation to electronic assemblies.
  • Calibrate and validate force-torque sensors.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to the component level.
  • Execute automated test procedures using Python-based tools.
  • Maintain production, calibration, and quality records.
  • Assist in developing fixtures, SOPs, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain a safe, organized workspace.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of hands-on experience in electromechanical assembly, robotics, or high-tech manufacturing.
  • Micro-Soldering (SMT & through-hole) and precision assembly skills.
  • Experience reading electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Familiarity with lab equipment such as DMMs, oscilloscopes, DAQs, and power supplies.
  • Basic Python experience for testing or data collection.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience calibrating force, torque, or pressure sensors.
  • CAD experience (Onshape or SolidWorks).
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001 or ISO 13485 environment.
